The idea of sustainability at first can seem as if it is only for people who have given up everything they know to live off the fat of the land or for those who have had a great impact. However, to be more effective, sustainability needs to become more widely accepted and practiced thereby ensuring everybody knows it is a necessary responsibility in every day life. However, sustainability isn't one and the same for all people, as everybody has a different impact and a different goal.

To be able to reach everyone and not further generalize concepts, Sustainable Square created a truly unique concept, one that will be forever in change, growth and development. It is a mentorship program for Sustainability, the first of its kind as far as we know in existence. It is not a specific and repeated program, project, consultancy or report. Rather, it is a specialist from within our staff sitting with you spending quality time to better understand your personal and professional needs enabling to motivate the construction of your approach and resolve toward sustainability.

This program is especially strong for individuals who believe they have a unique approach of   becoming conscientious or are accountable toward society, the environment, the marketplace or their workplace. It can also be someone who has a special responsibility with their family, their school, their religious institute, etc. Sustainability programs are entirely tailor-made and can include any element or number of elements related to sustainability and the betterment of life in general. Here are some grand examples of how this partnership could work.

  1. A person responsible for Sustainability of a company: Instead of having a consultant working alongside you, with this program you would have someone attached to you at work and beyond the workplace. This person would exemplify you within your company and help with your personal and professional resolve. This will help give you credibility and assist you in replying, for example, with a response better than off the cusp judgments such as, "I saw you throwing a plastic bag in the bin yesterday on _____ road.
  2. The Imam of a mosque: We can make effort to put together policies that are inline with Islam and other major religions that will reach out to the parish and motivate people attending worship to do better for the society. Again, more importantly, we will find ways to embody your life as well as the life of others in accordance with Islam (or your faith) and provide case studies as demonstrative of real life examples. We will also help to use your teaching methods to ensure people understand the difference between the religious perfection dictated and the errors of man so as to not only mimic the religious leader but also to follow the religious doctrine, first and foremost. We will also look at ways to preserve water and reduce waste by helping to guide the religious community to influence less consumptive, wasteful behaviors and encourage savings be reinvested in social causes. We will not get involved in religious doctrine or works but will endeavor to connect sustainability to religious meaning.
  3. A parent: We will come to your home, work place, etc., spend time with all stakeholders—families, friends, neighbors and home workers—, offer support and help to gradually increase sustainable habits among all individuals.
  4. A teacher or school: We can come and deliver training with practical volunteer elements to better your school and educate your children on appropriate, sustainable behaviors.
  5. A small company: We will mentor you on everyday business decisions and about how sustainable improvements can impact far more people than you would think.

These are just the tops of the sand dunes, while the entire vast desert of ideas and mentorship options exist to be activated. Contact us and we promise to offer you something mutually exciting and engaging with endless possibilities for growth.
